In the spirit of A.A.’s tradition of self-support, we only accept contributions from individual A.A. members and groups.

TRADITION 7:  RESPONSIBILITY

“Every A.A. group ought to be fully self- supporting, declining outside contributions.

Be sure to include the following information in the NOTE field to ensure accurate processing:

  1.  Name of your group
  2.  District Group ID #
  3.  A return email address for the receipt

Alcoholics Anonymous has no dues or fees, but we do have expenses. Your individual and group contributions help carry the message to alcoholics not yet reached – the alcoholic around the corner or around the world.

How is A.A. funded?  A.A. services are funded with individual member and group contributions, the Birthday Plan, and literature sales.

A.A. groups are self-supporting and rely on voluntary contributions from its own members to cover expenses. Individuals and groups also contribute to their district, area, central office and the General Service Office (GSO) in New York.

How you can contribute:

  • Participate in your group’s 7th Tradition
  • Make individual contributions to your group, district, area, central office, and the General Service Office.
  • Contribute to A.A.’s Birthday Plan (example: Send $1 for every year of sobriety to the GSO on your A.A. anniversary)
  • Purchase literature from your Central Office or the General Service Office
